We will focus this article on some major items that are naturally gluten free and from which you may start your culinary journey. Having coeliac disease, having gluten allergy or being gluten intolerant does not mean that you are enslaved to tasteless or ‘raw’ foods. It’s true that some people may have multiple and sometimes severe allergies that require them to have a super strict diet. The month of May is full of celebrations: Mother‘s Day; birthdays, our wedding anniversary amongst other events. A cake is always a grand finale to any celebration. However, when you have someone who has coeliac disease in the family, we need to provide a gluten free cake in addition to any other we make. Having tried out several gluten free cakes, we decided to put it down on paper for what we consider the best gluten free chocolate cake!

Did you know that today (16 May 2019) is International Coeliac Day?
In the UK Coeliac Awareness Week ran from 9-15 May 2019 and aimed to raise awareness about Coeliac Disease. It was sponsored by Coeliac UK, an organisation that provides support for people who suffer from this disease.
In the US the entire month of May is designated as Coeliac Awareness Month and the attempt to raise awareness recurs every year (you guessed it, in the month of May) for the disease, which afflicts 1 in a 100 people (in Europe), is supported by the National Federation for Coeliac Awareness.

Welcome to the Best Glutenfree Tips!
We created this site to share our experience as we had to learn and navigate what it meant to be gluten free since the diagnosis of our son with Coeliac Disease. Over time, we found that no one else had this auto-immune disease in our family.
Having 3 children, our life is fast paced and it was always easy to whip up a quick meal (pasta!) or slap together a quick sandwich as a lunch or snack. The challenge since the diagnosis was to continue providing healthy meals and snacks for the family but having to specially cater for the gluten free diet and all the challenge (preparations, cross contamination etc.) that entailed.
